Using the text editor
How to work with the text editor and keep your temper
First - it helps to know that the text editor isn't deliberately disobeying you. It's just a little computer program that's trying to take what you type and convert it to HTML. It's not perfect. It can be frustrating. And, it has quirks. But it's better than writing in straight HTML.
Luckily, there are some tricks that can make it easier to use.
1. Learn the buttons
Make the buttons introduce themselves
Some icons are probably familiar to you from other programs, but others might be pretty mysterious. If you hold your cursor over an icon, a yellow tag will appear with the name of the button.
Some of my favorite buttons are labeled below.
2. Make the most of pasting: Either paste with Word or format with HTML
One of the icons allows you to "paste from Word."
3. Inserting images
4. Using tables
5. Linking and Unlinking
6. Writing on a bigger page
7. Using teasers
8. Making HTML work for you.
