Deadline for interested Bridge to Biotech adopters extended
Bio-Link has just extended its deadline for colleges interested in being part of the first cohort of Bridge to Biotech program adopters through Bio-Link’s Synergy project, starting April 1st. Interested colleges have until Friday, March 18th 2011 to complete the Needs Assessment Survey on the Bio-Link website or contact Laurence Clement, Bio-Link Synergy Project Leader at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Bridge to Biotech program is a semester-long program consisting of 3 linked courses in Introductory science, and contextualized Math and English for biotech, which targets under-prepared students to increase their continuation and success in community college biotechnology programs.
Bio-Link will provide access to course materials and program tools used by City College of San Francisco’s Bridge to Biotech program, as well as workshops and webinars to support the development of new programs. The first cohort of colleges will meet at Bio-Link’s Annual Summer Fellows Forum in June in Berkeley, California, to jump-start their collaboration, begin working on a project plan and meet CCSF Bridge to Biotech Faculty. The group will continue working together over the next year as a learning community to support each other’s efforts in the implementation process.
The first cohort of colleges will include St Louis Community College, Missouri; Austin Community College, Texas and Gwinnett Technical College, Georgia.
