Message from the Program Chair
Resa Stauffer Pittcon 2013 Technical Program Chair
Pittcon 2013, the 64th annual Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy, continues to strive to feature a comprehensive coverage of all aspects of analytical science and instrumental analysis. Scientists and educators will have the opportunity to hear about recent scientific advances, get updated on cutting edge applications and techniques, and network with leading researchers. And join the Pittsburgh Conference for the first time in Philadelphia, and our first conference in the northeast since 1990.
You are cordially invited to submit an abstract for a contributed oral or poster presentation. Pittcon 2013 seeks a diverse, yet comprehensive technical program covering all areas of analytical science and applied spectroscopy. All contributed abstracts must be submitted electronically using this website. (Faxed, mailed, or e-mailed abstracts will not be accepted.)
Be sure to submit your abstract by August 10, 2012, to be included in the first round of abstracts to be reviewed and placed in the technical program.
All abstracts received after August 10, 2012, will be reviewed for quality and placed on a waiting list. Wait listed papers may or may not be included in the program depending on available space and “fit.” Accepted papers will be assigned to sessions according to methodology or application, depending on the focus chosen by the author. Authors are advised to choose these categories as well as their focus carefully, so that assignments can be made that are reasonable and represent the abstract.
As in past years, space for the technical program is at a premium, especially for oral sessions. If you are submitting an abstract for an oral presentation, please consider choosing the option of presenting as a poster for a backup.
Pittcon is pleased to be co-sponsoring with many outside agencies, including, the American Chemical Society – Division of Analytical Chemistry, Analitica Latin America, The Coblentz Society, International Association of Environmental Analytical Chemistry, the Association of Lab Managers, the Japan Analytical and Scientific Instruments Show, the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Society for Applied Spectroscopy, the Society for Electroanalytical Chemistry, and the Professionals Network in Advanced Instrumentation Society.
Below is a partial list of symposium topics for Pittcon 2013. Please do not consider these topics as our focus, but rather as a jumping off point. We want you to come and share your research, new ideas and innovations with the best and brightest our field has to offer. We strive to have a well-balanced Technical Program that covers all areas of analytical science and applied spectroscopy and rely on your contributed presentations to achieve that goal. On behalf of the Pittcon Organizing Committee, I invite you to share your research discoveries at Pittcon 2013, submit an abstract, and to join us and many colleagues at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA from March 17 through 21, 2013.
Sincerely,
Resa B. Stauffer
