Cell-based and gene therapy products are a growing area and becoming a major component of the biotechnology industry. The Workforce Expansion in Biomanufacturing Emerging Technologies (WEBET) project, funded by NIIMBL, brings six InnovATEBIO college programs and their regional industry partners together to identify the technical skills and knowledge needed for the development, manufacture, and testing of these advanced therapies.
This Train the Trainer session focuses on the QC analytics, microbiological control approaches and regulatory requirements associated with manufacturing cell and gene therapy products. The equipment necessary for developing a training program will be outlined and newly developed lab-based curriculum will be presented.
