Attention high school teachers! There are a couple of spaces left in the 3rd Annual Biotechnology Workshop at Kingsborough Community College during July 11-14 and 18-21, 2011.

Registration for this eight day workshop is free and teachers will receive a $750 stipend at the end.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. All teachers will receive a lab book to take home2, a biotechnology kit of choice for home2 school in addition to the $750 stipend.

The Texas Education Agency and Austin Community College Biotechnology Program have collaborated to offer a professional development opportunity for high school science, health science, agriculture, and STEM Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers in the state of Texas. Every year Bio-Link fellows from across the nation travel to Berkeley, CA to learn about the latest practices in biotechnology education.

At the Forum, participants will learn new skills and techniques, examine and test exemplary curriculum models and course material, engage in dialogue about ethical, legal, and social issues in biotechnology and learn how to disseminate this information within their own regions.
