Program description: 
The Biotechnology Training Program at Moorpark is one of three in the State with a comprehensive curriculum in bio-manufacturing. Biotechnology is a rapidly growing industry with projections for continued growth and exciting opportunities for employment. Employees in the Biotechnology industry often work at the cutting edge of technology and have the satisfaction of working to improve and save people’s lives. The program offers an A.S. Degree in Biotechnology, a Certificate of Achievement in Biotechnology, a Biotechnology Manufacturing Operator Certificate of Achievement, and a Certificate of Achievement in Biomedical Device Manufacturing (in collaboration with Ventura College). There are several large Biotechnology companies in Ventura County including Amgen, Shire, and Allergan. In addition, there is a thriving group of small start-up Biotechnology and Medical Device companies growing in the area.
